Learning Exceptionally

An activity for students to use on a community outing to a thrift store, such as Goodwill, or any other used furniture store. We used this to help our students prepare for independent living after high school, giving them the knowledge of how much items cost. We also compared how much they can save by buying items used instead of new.

An adapted Harriet Tubman book with large print, short sentences, and pictures. The last page has comprehension questions about the book with picture choices.

Word search based on the novel, Hoot. This can be used as a supplemental activity for in between lessons, or for early finishers! It can also be used when watching the movie version after reading the book.
