Pinch Cards

A type of formative assessment that allows you to see at a glance which students can give the correct response to see who is understanding the lesson as you go. I printed them on colored paper/cardstock. (same sheet on front and back) I laminated the sheets, cut out the cards, and placed them on a binder ring. The students hung them on a hook on the side of their desks and pulled them out whenever called for. I ask them a question and they "pinch" the answer on their card and show me their respo

Awards & shining teacher moments

Teacher of the year for my campus in 2010 and 2021. Teacher of the month every once in a while. The best award any teacher can receive is a sincere "Thank You" from a student/parent.

Additional biographical information

I knew I was going to be a teacher since I was 5 years old. I use to set up plastic milk crates in my room with stuffed animals as students and a green chalkboard propped up on a chair and pretend to teach to the perfect class. All teachers know now there's no such thing. It takes time and hard work. I'm always looking for new fun ways to get the kiddos attention.
