In a Montessori classroom, there is so much freedom for the children to choose the works they complete during the 3-hour work period. Sometimes though, children need a little extra boost or challenge to choose and complete works outside of their comfort one. While I feel that this freedom of choice is essential for students' development, I also know that visual aids can really help a child. These Amazon Rain forest nomenclature cards are a great way to help children learn new vocabulary. There are multiple ways to use these cards. Print one copy to use as flashcards. Print two copies and use as a matching game. Or print the traditional Montessori Nomenclature cards (cut so there is one copy of word and picture, one of picture, and one of word). All pictures are used from Common Collections (CC).
