About the store
I started my passion as a regular classroom teacher. Then, I taught Exceptional Children with Mild to Moderate Disabilities. Several years and a couple of "forests" later (IEPs), I returned to the regular classroom. I have taught Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade inclusion along with EC groups from K-6. I teach the whole learner, meaning I create units that are high-interest, student-led and tap into multiple modalities, while stopping to address social-emotional issues that affects the engagement in the future long after they leave my grade. I empower my students to be risk-takers, creating a sense of community. Yes, our class is a family, but it is also a wonderful community where everyone finds their niche.

Teaching style

Right now, my 2nd grade students learn best during small group instruction. I use a variety of strategies. My motto is "if it isn't working, then change it." I find that it is easy to get stuck in the same routine or hold onto what we have always used. However, learning takes place once you step or stick a toe outside your comfort zone. Your students benefit when you grow as an educator :)
