This assessment covers most the math objectives from the 3rd Grade Common Core. I give this assessment three times a year to see the growth of the students starting at the very beginning to the end of the year.

This Thanksgiving feast project is a great activity for students to do leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. It is a group project and has been differentiate among students in your class. It has students shopping grocery ads for holiday favorites. Then students have to add, subtract, multiply and divide to find the total of their Thanksgiving feast. Project ties to the 3rd Grade Common Core standards.
This is one of my favorite math projects that I do with my students EVERY year! It is a fun project that all learners can complete. Students choose 3 people to shop for based on the amount they saved for the year. Students then shop through magazine and ads for each person. They must stay within their budget and buy things that person would love! Students have to budget, add, subtract, round and multiply with this project. This inventory was created to be used with the Math Investigations Unit of Study. It focuses on place value, time and adding and subtracting of numbers. This is a great inventory to give at the end of 2nd grade or at the beginning of 3rd grade to see what students comprehended in 2nd grade.
This is a simple 6 questions assessment to give to students at the end of the book. There are 3 open- ended responses and 3 multiple choices questions.
This assessment is aligned to 3rd Grade Common Core Standards in the area of place value.
