Learning fact families from 1-10 are the fundamentals in being able to learn how to count and add numbers. This presentation is meant for students to view each number from 1-10 and repeat their fact families with switch partners, for example: 0+10 and 10+0. Knowing the twin numbers also allows students to add up or subtract down from the total, for example 8+8=16 so 8+9 is one more which is 17. There are equations at the end of the presentation for students to review and practice.
This is a fun and simple interactive activity for kids learning subtraction. First, print both pages (if printed in black nad white, the students can color the monster and slime). Second, cut out around each piece of slime. Third, place the monster in a plastic sleeve, this will allow students to wite on the equation lines as they place and take out pieces of slime to create math problems.
