Use these I can make five mats in your small group math lessons. Students place a number of counters from 0 - 5 on the mat and then write the amount they have and and how many more they need to make five. The mats progress from a five frame to a more difficult mat with scattered placed squares. The mats include sentences to encourage proper math language. Perfect for EL students, dual language classrooms, and early readers. I use these with my first grade math intervention students.
Numeracy begins with the ability to compose and decompose numbers. Kindergarten and first grade students can practice seeing tens in different ways on a domino face and ten frame. Also included are number sentences with missing addends to help build knowledge of the number ten.
