Preparing for an Interview

I made this template to help a friend prepare for an interview. I found it very useful in putting things into perspective and organizing ideas according to anticipated questions. It's a work in progress and in the event you purchase now, you will receive all subsequent additions to the document.

Experience

I started teaching in 1999. I was a homeroom teacher of Grade 1 for 2 years. In 2002, I was subject teacher for Grade 5. I taught English and social studies. In 2006, I travelled oversees and was a KG teacher for one year. In 2011, I changed jobs and I took on a new challenge. Teaching High School. I taught grades 8, 10, 11, and 12 English. This year, I am Head of Department, and I also teach grades 9-12. It's a handful, but I love teaching.

Teaching style

I want to enjoy teaching just as much as I want my students to enjoy it. At the beginning of the year, I set the tone/environment that I believe is conductive to a dynamic learning experience. I give my students much leeway and ample variety of ways to learn. I enjoy group work, so you'll often find my students working in groups. I support learning rather than lecture a lesson. I provide students with the tools they need to engage themselves in the learning process. I create webquests, class websites, webpages for specific topics, and I thoroughly enjoy it. My students enjoy spending their free time in my class. I am happy to know that they feel AT HOME in my classroom.
