Students will watch a 2 minute youtube video of Maya Angelou speaking. They will then reflect on her famous quote, "Be a rainbow in someone else's cloud." Students will learn how to find the subject and predicate in a sentence, fix a fragment, and identify if it is a run-on sentence. Follow the mini-lesson with practice on IXL or any other literacy platform.
