5.NBT.B.5 Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers (up to three-digit by four-digit factors) using appropriate strategies and algorithms.Students explore how to multiply with larger whole numbers by practicing using the strategies of partial product and area models for 3-digit by 2-digit factors. Students are able to use this product to help organize their work as they analyze math errors that could be made on an assignment, quiz, or test. Students will determine whether their mistake was problem solving, arithmetic, or careless. Students are given a space to rework the problem, identify the type of error, and explain their error.

You will find the following included in this resource: • Pre-test – Students take this before content is taught. It can be used to understand prior knowledge to help guide your lesson as well as help students generate their own goals for the end of the unit. • Post-test – It is the exact same test as the pre-test to show students’ growth. • Answer Key – It includes simplified and answers that aren’t simplified. • Recording Data Sheet – This gives students a visual of how they did on the content

These may be used to hang as posters in your room for students to reference common words to look for while solving word problems. There are three versions to choose from.
