Adding and Subtracting Integers This product uses real-world scenarios to help students understand how to add and subtract integers. Students will write numerical expressions and model them using a number line. You can use this as a print or digital activity. Whatever works best for you!If you print: There is a fun matching activity. You can partner up students and have them cut out expressions and then match them up. I have students glue them on card-stock and hang their work around the room.If

Exponents: Multiplying and Dividing Powers: This lesson covers the product rule, the power rule, and the quotient rule of powers for numerical and variable expression!Print or Digital If you print out, have students partner up and cut out equivalent expressions, (They love to do this!) Then they can glue cut outs on colored paper, decorate, and hang their work throughout the classroom. The many ways you can use this lesson are explained on the first page of the product. Systems of Equations Substitution This lesson contains fun real-world scenarios that really help students understand how to solve two linear systems using the substitution method. Furthermore, the last page is a reference page that students can detach. This page has an example of how to set up systems of equations to solve a real-world problems. This will help students to be successful with the problems they will encounter in the lesson.Great for distance learning and in person learning as well!

Ratios and Proportions Students will be introduced to ratios and proportions and 3 methods for solving them (i.e. mentally, traditionally, and using cross multiplication). Students will also use ratios and proportions to solve real world problemsFurthermore, there are 2 reference pages that students may detach with step by step examples! This works great because students don't have to fumble through the packet for an example, they simply place the reference sheet side by side with the problem th

Experience

I work at a multiple pathways school. My students are 17-21 in age and have not succeeded at their traditional schools. They are at my school working hard to earn their diploma or GED!

Teaching style

My goal is to make math fun, accessible, and at times humorous. I try to simplify concepts for students while at the same making assignments and lessons engaging and thought provoking. Hopefully you will see this reflected in my products. I also created a YouTube channel (Weiss Videos) to house my math videos. These videos align to my assignments and help me to differentiate my instruction so much! You will see the links to these videos in some of my assignments.
