About the store
I am a speech language pathologist in my clinical fellowship year. I work in the public school setting supporting children of all ages, disabilities, and skill levels. My strength in language acquisition and sentence generation provides me with insights others may not see. Prior to being an SLP, I previously taught secondary education with endorsements in English Language Arts, German as a Foreign Language, and English as a Second Language. I taught literature, writing, grammar, and cultural lessons for nearly 10 years before discovering my "home" in speech language pathology.

Camping Verb cards

This resource contains 24 photographs of activities that people do while they are out camping. These cards were designed to work as an extension- or frontloading activity in conjunction with "The Camping Trip" by Jennifer K. Mann, but could be used with any other camping or outdoor themed unit. Combine this free resource with the foldable tent craft from my store to expand language even further. Children with language disorders need more repeated, specific practice with language, especially

Prepositions List and Manipulatives

This is a file to create your own hands-on preposition manipulatives and practice. It includes a large print for a teacher's set, and a smaller print for a student set. The large set is designed to be printed, laminated, put on magnets, and used as a visual on the whiteboard. I leave my bag of prepositions on the white board all the time so I can reach for it even when it wasn’t built into a lesson plan.  The small set is designed to be printed on card stock and given to students. I use many di

My strength in language acquisition and sentence generation provides me with insights others may not see. Teaching style

As a speech pathologist, I incorporate my experiences as a teacher to create worthwhile extensions to narratives. I use evidence based practices in my speech therapy sessions and specifically employ narrative intervention methods to target academic and social language needs. Narrative unit extensions also allow for natural lessons and practice opportunities specific to different contexts. As a teacher, I stood by the idea that project based learning is the best method. We incorporate all of the different content areas in each unit and make connections. I like a classroom with lots of little routines. Tongue Twister Tuesday, Math Facts Monday, weekly book talks, Fluency practice on Fridays, and even Reading for Fun every Wednesday.
