Students color in their behavior color for each day. The calendar is blank so you and your class can fill in the dates and special events. Mine goes home daily for parents to see. At the end of the month if students have 80% good days they get to pick out of the prize box.

At the end of each day I "launch" my students with a saying. This year I'm going to place the cards around my door and have my first graders pick one as they walk out. Not only are they saying good-bye in a fun way but they are having to read what they want to say.

About the store

Experience

I am coming up on my 13th year of teaching lower elementary. My classroom is Hogwarts themed. I love watching my students fall in love with Harry and his friends each year!

Teaching style

Spunk, structure and silliness! I am a very organized teacher and keep a great deal of structure but I also know when to have fun. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty or to let my students find new ways to learn and be successful.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Golden Key Honor Society in 2004-2010

My own education history

When I graduated from High School I moved to Manhattan, KS to attend Kansas State University...GO CATS!! I switched schools in 2003 and changed my major to Elementary Education at Wichita State University...GO SHOCKS!!! I received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 2006 and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2010.

Additional biographical information

I enjoy being outside camping, riding 4 wheelers, shooting my bow, and laying at the pool. However, I am also one that enjoys my inside time crafting and taking photos for families and friends.
