This graphic organizer helps students compare the Wife of Bath's Tale and the Pardoner's Tale from the Canterbury Tales. Usually these two tales are included in the textbook. The first page is an "at-a-glance" comparison chart, featuring job, physical descriptions, positive, and negative characteristics of each character. The second and third page are four square comic charts for the students to summarize each tale. This is best used for a review.

Get students reading closely by having them chart the tension present within an excerpt, chapter, short story, or novel! This can work with any piece of fiction where there are tense/awkward moments which build to the conflict! This material includes two handouts. The first one is more scaffolded for lower levels. This final project asks students to get inside a character's persona by first researching a modern day "rags to riches" celebrity and making comparisons and contrasts. Then, the students will participate in a living wax museum where other staff and faculty walk through the museum as the students pretend to be that celebrity!

This is a 6 step poetry analysis for William Wordsworth's poem, "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," but can be used for any poem! In this activity, I give the students a clock handout.
