Teaching style

In my elementary library, I use a variety of teaching approaches to create an engaging, supportive space where every student can thrive. I often begin lessons with brief, focused instruction to introduce new skills, followed by modeling and guided practice to build confidence. I especially enjoy incorporating inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to ask questions, explore topics, and take ownership of their learning. Collaborating with classroom teachers allows me to connect library lessons to grade-level content and strengthen literacy across the curriculum. To keep students actively involved, I integrate stations, technology, and choice-based activities that make learning both meaningful and fun. My goal is to nurture a love of reading, spark curiosity, and inspire lifelong learning in every student who walks through the library doors.
