Valentine's Day 3-D Heart Art
This fun and fast art project is perfect for K-5 and always pleases children and adults. Only three things are needed-paper strips, staples, and a pencil, but the result is very cool. A writing activity included.

Kindergarten Common Core Line Art
This quick and fun line art project reinforces pre-writing as children manipulate strips of paper to create lines that pop off the paper. Although geared for Kindergarten, this at project works well for 1st and 2nd grade and will make an excellent writing prompt.
This project is also excellent for visual art teachers introducing lines to children.

Teaching style
Self-esteem is critical to me. If children do not feel valued and accepted, they will not learn well. My class is a fun, funny, happy place.

I am the lucky Mom of my beautiful daughter, Anya. Anya was adopted from Russia by her Dad and me in 2004.
Anya is a grad student in Art & Museum Studies at Georgetown University. She is the illustrator of my Oval Man books!
I am married to a wonderful guy named Michael. We have two sweet, old doggies.
