About the store
I've taught 7-8 grade English Language Arts for 3.5 years and high school English 9 for 5 years. I've worked with Common Core State Standards extensively: unpacking, creating units, handouts, working with the iPad in the classroom. I've even had the opportunity to work with WestEd advisers. My school has been great with Professional Development and I have worked with people like Ruby Payne and Marcia Tate. These ladies are wonderful!

This is a Power Point Presentation to introduce The Odyssey. There are a total of 20 slides all dealing with the Trojan War, the contest Paris judged, and even Achilles! Fun and entertaining! There is a guided reading activity to go along with the power point also located in my store.

Teaching style
My classroom is very laid back and comfortable. We run a tight ship in my class with routine, routine, routine, but we also know how to be flexible because things always happen. I have a reading corner, house lamps, and a huge classroom. My students feel very safe and secure in there and tend to learn better because of it.

Additional biographical information
I'm currently not teaching. I married in the military this year and was supposed to move. However, he is still stuck over sea and so I have a lot of free time to work on my lesson plans, handouts, strategies, etc. I just started with this website so I'm excited to explore the possibilities!
