Teaching style

Hello, my name is Heidy Lopez and I am a Fourth Grade Teacher of the Gifted for MDCPS. My teaching career started in the Fall of 2000. I can honestly say that I have loved every minute of it. My strengths in the classroom are reading and writing. On my free time, I love creating thematic units and engaging lessons. I also enjoy introducing children to new authors and genre. I do my best to enrich children's learning experiences through thought and inquiry in our daily discussion. Furthermore, I enjoy creating fun and meaningful projects for my students by integrating technology and content as often as possible. There is something about the curiosity and energy that young children exhibit that keeps me motivated and passionate about teaching. My goal as an educator, is to foster different learning styles, encourage creative and critical thinking, as well as maintain my enthusiam and energy towards learning. Hopefully, I can pass this on to my students.
