This entry-level project uses the free BASIC version of Soundtrap. The provided lesson includes specific instructions for the teacher, recommendations for how the students should sign up for Soundtrap, parameters of the project, and worksheet. The students will work in pairs and learn how to collaborate in a way that requires consideration of the features and limitations of online, real-time sharing and building of musical ideas.

Students will create two eight-measure phrases using the Drummer track in GarageBand. Students will make creative decisions to develop drum beats that reflect their musical interests and technical curiosity of creating music using GarageBand. By learning how to use the Drummer track, students will be able to incorporate it in a more purposeful way.
