I have been an educator for almost 20 years. I taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grade for almost 15 years before transitioning to math intervention for second and third graders. Currently, I am a math coach and coordinator for grades PK - 5.
I have used this scavenger hunt as homework. In the younger grades, it relates in class learning about basic polygons to the real world outside of the classroom. In older grades, it can serve as a review of two-dimensional geometry. Either way, it is a fun activity that my students have always enjoyed!
