Do your students think that geometry figures only exist in the forms they see in their math book? Use this Google Doc to model points, lines, rays and angles in the real world and challenge them to find their own! The document contains 11 pages to use for instruction and student engagement. These include 5 pages to print or have students use digitally to show the math representation and name the figure!
Take your kids outside or around your school and have them find real examples of geometry figures! They will love taking pictures and inserting them into the Google Slides. Then they will write the math representation and name! This is a great end of school year project!
This unit is designed for second grade readers workshop based on the common core standards. All objectives are linked to the standards and also include templates and mentor texts that can be used to meet each standard. I have used this unit as a culminating unit after many skills and strategies have been taught, but these templates can also be used as an introduction to each standard.
