Preschool Math- Number Writing

This is part one of a two lesson number writing activity for preschoolers. The children practice tracing the numbers, writing the numbers independently, and then they draw pictures in the rectangle boxes to match the number (e.g. for the number 2, they draw two stars). A good warm up activity for this lesson is playing a whole group matching game where the students take turns matching cards with numbers on them to cards with dots on them.

About the store

Experience

I've been working as a pre-kindergarten teacher for almost two years, after attending graduate school for my Masters in Teaching. I have been working with children in various capacities for over a decade.

Teaching style

I always have high expectations for my students, so I like to challenge them. However, I always provide the necessary support and guidance they need to meet these goals. Literacy and art are my favorite subjects to teach. I am a very organized teacher, which is always noticeable in how my classrooms are set up.

My own education history

I went to Reed College to study developmental psychology, then went to Lewis and Clark Graduate School to receive my Masters in Teaching and an elementary teaching license.
