For every short story students read in class, they must complete a short story outline and place it in their notebooks under the "literature selections" tab. At a glance, students can refresh their comprehension and knowledge of a literature piece. Each outline is so comprehensive, students can also use the outlines to study for assessments. I assign the reading at home and the outline as homework, or students can complete the outline individually in class or as guided group classwork as well.
