This is a packet of four different vocabulary activities for your students. They can complete all of these every week, or one each week. I'm including both a .pdf version and a word document so that you can edit if needed. I can also send a google doc link if you need it.
This is an independent book project for your students. I designed this with very simple requirements. The document can be edited so that you can add requirements or remove requirements as needed. Additionally, no rubric has been created, as I want teachers to have the freedom to create their own. If you would like one created, don't hesitate to contact me. These are the worksheets I gave my student's for Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers, in order to allow them to write their paper! Their prompt: Write your own chapter of Outliers! Do this by presenting two people who you believe are successful and analyze how they became successful! Photo by rawpixel on Unsplash
This is a unit-long project where students are asked to record each adventure Odysseus has. This is just the instruction page and the rubric for grading. Photo by Matt Hardy on Unsplash
This is a fun activity requiring some creativity from your students. I provide a vocabulary list, but this also comes as a word document--you can change it to any vocabulary list.
This is checklist I put together for before my students turn in their research papers. You could use this for most papers.

This is a strategy I use to create seating charts at the beginning of the year. I find it helps me get to know my student's leadership strengths, lack thereof, conflict buddies, and friends. This is the quiz over the first chapter of Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech. It is 7 questions in total and includes and answer key. 5 multiple choice and 2 short answer. I will be uploading quizzes for every chapter--teachers may buy individual chapters or all chapters for one group price.
This powerpoint has 90 days worth of journal questions. There are a decent amount of personal questions, creative questions, and ethical questions. There are no length requirements included, so that is something you can require of your students. You can also modify this document as you wish.
There are some repeats, like: Draw something. Tell me a story. Make up a joke.
Just because I have found those never get old and students tend to really go all out with those.

Encouraging students to create their own school. This was designed to be used with Gladwell's Outliers, but could be used for any number of reasons. Has specific questions for students to answer and a grading rubric. Students are encouraged to use this project as a learning opportunity, instead of simply listening to a lecture. I've used this for two years and it has been a great success!
This research paper rubric is a rubric I created for my students. They had approx. 9 weeks to complete the assignment. This was for a Christian school, so I required that they focus on a BIblical topic (something not researched thoroughly).
This is a printable Tic Tac Toe project for the text In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez. The project requires students to select three activities to do (in a row!). It allows them to appeal to their learning style, allows them to take ownership of their learning, and truly allows them to dive into the novel!

This is a day-by-day walk through of Julius Caesar. It has daily notes for the students to fill out, answers from their reading, etc. At the end is also an essay for students to begin finding proof to back up their opinion of the play. This was an amazing resource to use in my classroom--I collected them every day and just looked through them to make sure the students were keeping pace. This also helped my students understand Shakespeare a little better. I used it for 10th grade, but it would b
This is a lesson plan for an introduction to Shakespeare. Included is a link to a prezi that I created to go along with the lesson. The lesson details asides, soliloquoys, etc, as well as Shakespeare's life. This particular lesson also has a mini-introduction of Julius Caesar, but that can easily be skipped.
