This resource can really be used for any subject area and/or standard. It's helpful to keep students accountable for recording notes on lectures, chapter readings, video assignments, etc. Students can use their notes later to help them study for a test or quiz!

Students will have fun learning vocabulary words, while creating a vocabulary "flower". Have students cut each "flower" group on the outer lines. Then glue them together by placing glue in the middle hexagon that is blank. Once all pieces have been glued, cut the lines in between each hexagon, stopping at the middle, to separate the "petals." This makes it easier for writing. Then students will write down the definitions, draw a picture, and write features to go along with the vocabulary word.

Help students master vocabulary with this worksheet. Students will define terms and provide examples as an extension to help them build an understanding of the word meanings. Can be edited to apply to any standard.

Hexagonal Thinking is a fun way for teaching vocabulary and getting students thinking! This can be done with all types of vocabulary words. Students will use the hexagons to create a concept map for their terms. You can cut the hexagons beforehand, or have students cut them. They can look up the definitions on their own, or you can give them the definitions. Once they know what the words mean, they will place the hexagons together that are related in some way.
