About the store
Teaching has been my passion for over 25 years. I began my career in a private school for two years and have spent the last 23 years teaching in a public middle school. I hold a Teacher of the Handicapped certification and a Master’s degree in Social Work, which gives me a unique perspective on supporting both the academic and emotional needs of my students. Over the years, I’ve worked as an inclusion teacher, resource room teacher, and now as a self-contained teacher. I’ve had the privilege of teaching all of the major subjects, which has helped me understand how to make learning meaningful across the curriculum. I love creating resources that are practical for teachers and engaging for students, with the goal of making teaching a little easier and learning a lot more fun!

Experience

Teaching style

My teaching style is student-centered, supportive, and flexible to meet the unique needs of every learner. I believe in creating a positive and structured classroom environment where students feel safe, encouraged, and motivated to take risks. I use a mix of hands-on activities, visuals, and differentiated instruction to make lessons engaging and accessible for all learners, especially those who need extra support. I strive to connect academics with real-life experiences and social-emotional growth, helping students build both confidence and independence. Above all, I value patience, creativity, and consistency, which allow me to meet students where they are and guide them toward success.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to receive recognition for my dedication to teaching and my students’ success. Some of my proudest moments have come from seeing students who once struggled grow in confidence and ability, achieving milestones they never thought possible. I’ve been acknowledged by colleagues and administrators for my commitment, creativity, and ability to reach learners with diverse needs. My shining moments are often the small victories in the classroom—when a student finally masters a skill, discovers a love for learning, or feels proud of their progress. These moments remind me why I became a teacher and continue to inspire me to create resources that make a real difference.

My own education history

I graduated from Highland Park High School before pursuing my passion for education at Montclair State University, where I earned my undergraduate degree. I later continued my studies at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, completing my Master’s degree in Social Work. My educational journey has given me both a strong academic foundation and a deep understanding of how to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. These experiences have shaped the way I teach and create resources, always with the goal of meeting students where they are and helping them thrive.
