I am a High School Science, Robotics and Engineering teacher in Klamath Falls Oregon. I have 18 year of experience teaching science and 3 years of teaching VEX EDR Robotics as well as 3 years of teaching Engineering Design.
This is a great resource to get your VEX EDR classroom or kit organized. Small photos along with names for all of the VEX EDR small parts. I've printed mine then attached to drawers using packing tape. It's in word format so you can resize to fit your storage. It could also be printed for student notebooks or classroom reference poster. I'm not a fancy teacher- It's just the simple parts and names.
These are simple labels I created to help organize my VEX V5 parts. This list has the parts available as of Dec 2018. I will update as they release more parts. This is downloadable as a MS word document so you can scale the images to sizes that fit your containers. It's organized into a table. I'm not a professional TPTer... just trying to save some other some time : )
This worksheet is for use when practicing more advanced gear ratios. This worksheet takes approximately 50 min to complete. It is suggested that you include some of the vex gears to use as manipulative when using this worksheet. This worksheet does NOT teach gear ratios. It's designed to be a followup or practice to a lecture or activity explaining gear ratios. This product has been updated to include an answer key.
Looking to get your VEX classroom organized? These tags can make all the difference. These can be printed as is or edited to fit your containers. Just print ( color works best) and tape to your containers. You will be amazed at how much cleaner your build room stays and how fewer questions you get from students about parts locations. . This bundle includes the Wheels, Metal, Sensors and Motors, small and specialty parts as well as Misc and Gears tags. These are each sold separately for $2.00
After several seasons of arguing with my teams about their Engineering notebooks I developed this task list. It includes all of the items and topics needed for your team to produce a winning notebook. I've made this a word document download so you can edit it. It has made a huge difference in the quality of our notebooks and helped my students and myself meet time frames for completing notebook tasks. I usually give each team a copy of this and have them complete it then hang in the classroom
This is a COMPLETE BUNDLE OF VEX IQ PARTS LABELS. My robotics classroom was getting out of control and students were having a hard time finding parts. I made these labels to organize my parts. I suggest printing out the labels in color. Cutting them up, laminating them and then taping them onto your bins based on how you organize your parts. Because it's a google document you can scale the parts photos to meet the size of your storage. This particular file does not have a ton of labels. I plan
If you need a 15 min time filler in robotics class this is a great worksheet. It has links to 6 robotics videos and reflections for each. You could do the entire worksheet in a 90 min sitting. However I think it's best used as a quick time filler of 15 min. Or watch a few on a day you have to have a sub. Keep the worksheet then hand out again to work on the next video when the time is right. Videos are about the variety of robotics applications in present time and the future.

Scouting at VEX tournaments is an important part of a successful team. This is one of the scouting sheets our team uses for the current years competition - In the Zone. We are the 2017 VEX Oregon State Champion and would not have been able to achieve this without great scouting. This will download as a fully editable excel spreadsheet.
I got tired of answering the same questions over and over.... so I've started creating "template" items for my VEX robotics classroom. These are 1 page helpers for students. This item is sold by itself and as part of my VEX Helper Template Bundle.
I would recommend laminating this and then making an area ( I use a wall hanging basket) to keep all of your templates in so students can answer their own questions. I will be adding to this section as I continue to make more Templates.

This planning worksheet is used for basic VEX EDR robots. I use this with my Robotics 1 class ( this class is learning basic coding and then going into free build robots do compete in classroom contests). This is NOT used for the VEX Worlds Challenge each year.
This worksheet incorporates isometric sketching as well as traditional multiview. It also has a section for students to document their schematics of the cortex.
Having a hard time deciding what type of robot to build. Complete this worksheet and learn how decision matrix can guide your design process. Students should work in teams to brainstorm and complete matrix. This worksheet is adaptable for any VEX competition
This investigation is modeled after a popular online investigation for VEX. The worksheet has students test out code virtually vs real world to look for discrepancies as well as find patterns in comparing Power and Distance in Vex Robotics. This investigation takes about 60 min to complete.
This is a digital download of tags to label parts bins. All of my TPT files are no fuss - just things I use in
This is a basic Shaft Encoder Calculations Worksheet. I introduce this worksheet as part of the VEX basketball lines challenge. It gives students practice taking distances and translating them into degrees for the shaft encoders.
