On the first day of school, I put this on my student's desks for them to do as morning work. It's great for students to easily do by themselves as you help students, answer questions, etc. Students then share all about themselves and we create a banner on the bulletin board in the hallway. It's a great way for students to get to know their new classmates and for me to get to know them as well.

In my first Teachers Pay Teachers item, I have made word wall headings! Each heading is framed with a deep red (almost brown) scallop trimmed border and has both capital and lowercase letters. I print it on card stock and laminate each card before hanging it up. I am working on adding all of the Fry word lists as words that can go with these headings.
