About the store
Having taught almost all sciences from the 8th to 12th grade for 34 years I have a lot of experience and wisdom on how to make and implement an engaging curriculum. My areas of expertise are Chemistry, Physical Science, Marine Science, Anatomy/Physiology and Integrated Science. I created a lot of my curriculum because I felt that what came with the text was not in-depth enough, was too low-level or lacked interdisciplinary connections. I have an Educational Specialist degree, Ed.S., and was a National Board Certified Teacher from 1999-2019 (AYA Science), and was a Miami-Dade County Public Schools Science Teacher of the Year in 2002. Currently, I'm finishing a Ph.D. in Secondary Science Curriculum and Instruction.

This worksheet introduces and reinforces the math operations done in System International, Dimensional Analysis (unit conversions) and Scientific Notation. The equation Q = N x R (quantity of a variable in a sample of cells is equal to the number of cells time the quantity/ratio of the variable per 1 cell) is used and derived for N and R.

Experience

Teaching style

I want to challenge and engage students to really "stretch their neurons". So, I create worksheets, labs, explorations, demonstrations, etc. that are in-depth, interdisciplinary, relevant and get them college-ready. If I feel like the curriculum provided to me (ex. books and ancillaries) doesn't have enough "pedagogic bang-for-the-buck", then I make my own!!!

Awards & shining teacher moments
