I saw the cute saying When you enter this classroom... you are scientists, you are learners, you are loved, etc on the internet. I tried to find this poster at our local teacher stores, but could not! I wanted to be able to just buy it, laminate it, cut it out and put it up, but I couldn't find anything. Flat Stanley Is Coming

Every year we read the Flat Stanley series and send out our own Flat Stanleys to "host" families! This is the letter that I include with my student's paper Flat Stanley so the "host" family knows what to do with him when he gets there. You can put your school address in there and and the date that you would like Flat Stanley to be returned.

About the store

Experience

This is my thirteenth year teaching. I loop with my students so I start in 2nd grade and continue to 3rd grade with them! I cannot imagine doing anything else!

Teaching style

My classroom is set up in an alternative classroom set up. We sit on balls, comfy chairs, boat seats, ottomans, rockers, and anything else that is comfortable to sit on. I call it "active listening."

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been nominated for several years to the Golden Apple Foundation, made the top twenty for our area, and have also been named Teacher of the Week for our local t.v. station.

My own education history

I attended Rock Valley College and received my associates degree. Then I went onto Rockford College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in education. Recently I went back to get my masters and got my Type 75 which allows me to become an administrator!
