Our kindergarteners celebrate Very Hungry Caterpillar Day on March 20! Since this is such a big event for our class, I created this short morning work sheet for students to use during our short morning work time. The worksheet contains missing phonemes and blank addition problems for students at a kindergarten level. This is leveled work and can be completed independently. When students are finished, they can color the butterflies and foods that the butterfly ate through.

I use this as a small group activity. Students are to match the standard form number with the expanded form number and put them under the appropriate categories. I printed the cards on colored cardstock and laminated them to keep and use in my math centers to help students practice with converting 2 and 3 digit numbers into expanded form.
