Reading Strategies Before During and After Reading Bookmark
This bookmark can be used to help introduce all the important and effective reading strategies that help with fluency and comprehension. It is ideal to teach and review all the strategies on the bookmark before you give it to them to use while they read. You should also laminate each one for durability. I also have this available in Spanish.

Reading log with Genre codes
This Reading log is ideal for logging in their daily reading minutes. I assign 20 to 30 minutes of reading every night Monday through Thursday leaving the weekend as flex days. This Readiing log is set up to run for 3 weeks therefore if some of the students are involved with afterschool activities and they need to be flexible this Reading log allows flexibility with the weekend flex days. After the 3 week cyle the Reading log is expected to be complete with parent signature, Genre codes of the b

I have had 12 years of experience in a classroom with my focus on multiple subjects. In the last 4 years I have spent a lot of time perfecting my use of new reading strategies with an inclusion classroom.
Teaching style
I am sure that many will agree that just using one style leaves room for improvement. After all these years of teaching I have realized that my styles change according to the group I have. My favorite styles of teaching are using class discussions and student responses. I have a better understanding of what my students really know by the way they respond. I like having the students respond by making connections because it is the most authentic form of understanding. I know exactly what they are thinking and use their response to understand their mistakes as well, which make corrections and reteaching easier on me and the students.

Much like many of us who teach I am a busy mom of three and wish there were 10 of me to do everything I would like to do. I am guilty of taking on many projects but it is who I am and love to stay busy. A mind that keeps running will be sure to stay strong in my future...I hope?????
