Experience
I taught 9th grade language arts for 10 years and for the past 15 years I have been teaching language arts at the middle school level... and I LOVE IT!
Teaching style
I have a very creative streak in my teaching style because I think kids learn best when they don't realize they are learning at all. I use textbooks and workbooks to get students started in grammar and literature and then I supplement and create projects to help them discover, learn, and use what's important. I am currently working to include as many PBL lessons in my yearly plans to further benefit my students for life beyond my classroom.

Additional biographical information
I am a wife to my amazingly handsome husband of almost 25 years, Eric Smith. We have one beautiful daughter who is now a junior at THE Ohio State University. There are also two fabulous 4-legged "kids" at home to keep us busy. Life is good!
Outside of family and work, we are all very active in our church.
