I started Teachers Pay Teachers after spending five dedicated years teaching in traditional classrooms. Throughout my career, I taught 6th grade and 2nd grade, fostering a love of learning among my students. However, after the birth of my daughter in April 2023, I decided to take a break from full-time teaching. It was during this time that I discovered TpT—an online platform that allowed me to share my expertise, resources, and knowledge with educators worldwide.

My own education history

My passion for education and helping others thrive led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from the University of Iowa. This interdisciplinary foundation allowed me to develop a deep understanding of student behavior and the importance of individualized support. Eager to expand my impact in the field of education, I pursued a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University Chicago, where I gained valuable insights into curriculum development, instructional strategies, and educational psychology. Equipped with a diverse set of qualifications, I hold K-9 certification, reflecting my ability to teach across a broad range of grade levels. Additionally, my passion for social studies led me to earn a social studies endorsement, allowing me to integrate this important subject seamlessly into my lessons. Moreover, my English as a Second Language (ESL) certification enables me to effectively support students with diverse linguistic backgrounds, ensuring inclusive learning environments. Lastly, my International Baccalaureate (IB) certification demonstrates my commitment to providing a globally-focused education, promoting critical thinking and international-mindedness.
