This game can be used several ways. It has 25 pages worth of word cards with real and nonsense short "i" words and long "i" words. You can put these in a pile mixed with the cards that say SNOWBALL FIGHT! Each word they read they can keep to total at the end. If they get a snowball fight card they put all cards back. There are also long and short "i" sorting mats and a real and make believe sorting mat.
Creating: Print the game in color on cardstock. Laminate the pages and cut out the picture cards.
Objective: Be the first token piece to the end.
Play: Draw cards from the picture card stack. Figure out how many syllables the item on the card has in the word. You can move your token the same number of spaces as syllables for that card.
If you land on a rain boot space, you may splash ahead one space.
If you land on a rain cloud space, you must go backwards to the closest umbrella space.
This game is played similarly to the classic game War. Kids will have a blast while comparing number 0-20. Cards can be used for sequencing as well. Great for partner practice or as a review center.
