This circuit includes 10 systems which are set up to solve by elimination. Some can be solved simply by adding, some by subtracting, and some by multiplying 1 equation by a number to get the x terms or y terms to cancel. Two of the problems have 'no solution' or 'infinite solutions.' The students will begin by solving the system in the top, left box. They will look for their solution in a shape in a different box. Experience

I am in my 17th year of teaching. I have been in a high school the entire time. I have taught almost every different mathematics subject at many different learning levels.

Teaching style

I have used interactive notebooks for about 5 years now. Students love having a place for their notes, they enjoy the organization, and they enjoy the 'easy' points when I grade them. I ask a lot of questions during the hour and always give the students time to think. If I will be asking random students for answers, I warn them that it's coming, ask them to write down their answers and check them with their group members, and THEN I randomly ask a student to share their "guess" as I call it (in case they're wrong). I try to keep my students from getting bored. Math isn't exciting for most high school students so I try my best to keep my class light and as fun as I can.

Master's degree in Education with a specialization in teacher leadership.
