A guide for the various multiplication strategies used in fourth grade to build computational fluency in multiplication without the use of the algorithm. This could be used as a parent guide or as a notes page for student notebooks.
This cover-up game allows for 2 digit by 2-digit and 2 digit by 3 digit multiplication practice. Students love the freedom of the activity, and they never realize how much math they are actually doing. This is a great activity for centers, differentiated practice, and peer groups and tutoring.
A spin on the multiplication cover-up to help with division. Students use dice to determine the problem that is to be worked. Students will practice lots of division problems to help with fluency.
This activity is a great way to quickly differentiate in class. One side offers 1 digit multiplication, and the other side offers 2-digit multiplication.
Students can work in peer groups to allow for peer tutoring. Students enjoy this activity and often do not realize the amount of multiplication they are performing.
