This online packet to be used in Google Slides has 40 writing prompts. 10 each in the following areas: Informational, Opinion/Persuasive, Narrative, and Research. The students brainstorm on Monday, come up with their details and explanations on Tuesday, edit on Wednesday, and publish on Thursday. I love doing candy bar awards at the end of the year and students love this tradition as well. This product contains 41 different awards honoring students and their hard work and good character and is associated with 41 different candy bars that are easy to find at the store. I created this product to as a way to practice comprehension skills while reading Magic Tree House Dragon of the Red Dawn. We use this book to learn about Ancient Japan and their culture, then we will use what we have learned to write our own story set in this time period. I use it as an accompaniment to ARC Traditional Tales Unit for 3rd grade but it could be used as a stand alone reading unit.
