About the store
I have been a 6th grade teacher for the passed 7 years. My very first year teaching I taught 9th and 11th grade. I have been working for the Department of Education for the last 5 years and couldn't be happier. The students are grateful and diverse. For the past three years I have been working with English Language learners who are anywhere from beginners to expanding. Some students just got to the country and speak no English! The biggest challenge has been the multiple languages in one room. There have been up to 10 different languages spoken in one English language learner classroom. I love what I do, and I feel I have the patience to really help all students become life long learners.

Teaching style

I use Interactive Math Notebooks in my classroom with guided notes. I use table races to encourage the students to quickly tape in their daily note sheets. I am font obsessed so everyday students can expect a new crazy font title. I also add new anchor charts in my classroom throughout the year to help students remember the important information we have learned! I also pre-test students to determine their entry-point. Each lesson includes an enrichment, an extra practice, and a tool for struggling students. As I continue my journey on TpT I hope to someday have all my material available for teahers all over the country!

My own education history

I went to SUNY Albany and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Mathematics (Grades 7-12). I then studied for the 5-6 extension so I can teach middle school students. My heart has landed in me in 6th grade.

Additional biographical information

I was born and raised in New York and currently live in Long Island, NY.
