Lower Mountain Teachings

I am in my 6th year as an Instructional Support Specialist for Technology and Science, where I support K-12 teachers and students with integrating Technology, Science, and Pedagogy into the classroom. I love collaborating with educators across all grade levels to enhance student learning and empower teachers with the tools they need to succeed. In addition, I am a New York State VITAL Educator, trained in best practices for teaching in virtual environments, ensuring that my support is both current and effective for today’s digital classrooms. Before stepping into this role, I spent 19 years as a 4th grade teacher, where I honed my skills in helping students develop both academically and socially. Prior to that, I spent 4 years teaching multiage 4th and 5th grade classes, giving me a broad perspective on the different needs of students at various developmental stages. Earlier in my career, I worked as a migrant educator through a grant from SUNY, where I supported children of migrant workers. These students often faced unique challenges, such as frequent school transfers, which impacted their academic continuity. I worked closely with them, helping them adjust to new schools, providing tutoring, and assisting with personal needs like obtaining glasses, ensuring they had the support necessary to succeed despite the challenges they faced.
