BEST FORAlgebra and higher (because the answer has to do with slope). WHAT IT ISA challenge activity about slope. The image appears to be a triangle, but if the students count “rise over run” they’ll notice that the slopes are slightly different. This a great add-on to graphing lines and learning about slopes! Teaching style
I make class fun, exciting, comfortable, and overall a place where students want to be. I give students all the materials necessary to succeed, and I bend over backwards to help students in every possible way, but in no way do I force students to learn - that responsibility is on them. But if a class is structured correctly, students always choose to participate =)
Awards & shining teacher moments
- Achieved the largest standardized test score improvement (for math) in Virginia (30% passing to 99.8% passing in 1 year)... Still not beaten to this day!
- Teacher of the year award (2011)
- Winner of the 2017 CenturyLink Technology Grant for Washington State
