The bundle has graphic organizers, research resources with links for 20 people, and steps to begin a painting. It also includes example images to analyze in small groups. I worked with an artist from Switzerland who presented at the Anne Frank School to develop this project. Our social studies department also contributed to the resources.

This color wheel is designed to print on cardstock and has color scheme definitions at the bottom of the handout. Students would then learn about color schemes and paint the color wheel by mixing acrylic paint to differentiate each color. Acrylic paint is preferable on card stock. The activity leads to another color scheme project in the bundle.

Teaching style

My teaching style takes an inquiry stance to help students question their place in the world and within themselves. My work promotes activities that break down normalized thinking and reconsider the body as an intervention to standardized methods.

Awards & shining teacher moments

2011 Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction My students have won over 15 gold keys and silver keys with Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
