This is a great activity pack for grade 2 Data and Measurement. The weather graph provides students with data. Students use this data to create a bar graph and a picture graph. Students are asked to label the data as well. Students also complete a worksheet that asks mathematical and real world questions about the data on the graph. This would be a great addition to a science unit as well to integrate mathematics and science. It could also be used for a math packet of homework for the week
This is a card game to help students learn homophones. A student holding the card "hair" might ask for the word "hare" during his or her turn. The idea of the game calls for students to use the homophones in sentences so the other players know which word is needed. It is a fun way to practice homophones!
You will need to print double sided or run through the copier to have the front and back. I used card stock and then ran them through the laminator before I cut them out.
These activities are designed to help students with phonemic awareness focusing on blends. There are several activities for students to complete. Students sort pictures based on initial s blends in one activity. For some phonics practice, students sort words with initial s blends in another activity. Finally, students choose their own s blend word and write it as well as draw a picture to go along with it. The worksheets can be used as a center, a graded activity, or even as a quiz.
