My Special Number Math Project
A highly engaging math project! Always a big hit in my classroom! Students choose a number between 10 and 100, exploring both its mathematical and real-world significance. A great way to extend studies of even and odd numbers, factors and GCF, multiples and LCM, primes, composites, prime factorizations, etc. Also great for making math real, accessible, and interesting! Experience
I've taught 3rd through 6th grade, elementary school and middle school. I've also taught gifted (or highly capable) programs.
Teaching style
I like to mix constructivist and traditional methods. I also rely heavily on Columbia Teacher's College literacy methodology: Reader's and Writer's Workshop.
