About the store

Experience

I have been a substitute teacher for the last year, teaching anywhere from 1st grade all the way to 12th grade. My passion has always been for English, so I decided to go back to school to become a secondary English teacher.

Teaching style

As a substitute teacher, I very rarely follow any strict rules unless desired by the teacher in advance. I stay honest with students, and tell them that we have a job to get done while the teacher is away.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Girl Scout Gold Award Girl Scout Silver Award 2nd place in the Southwest Minnesota State University Writing Contest Published in the Albion Review, 2010 Finalist in the My BSU Moment essay contest in 2010 for Bemidji State University

My own education history

I graduated from ACGC High School in Minnesota in a class of about 80 students. I went on to graduate from Bemidji State University in Minnesota with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative/Professional Writing. Right now, I am currently a student at Bethel College in Indiana in their Transition to Teaching program to receive my license in secondary English.
