I have spent the past 9 years as a middle school math teacher in both urban and suburban, private and public schools. I am currently the Middle School Math Chair at Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.
This four-door foldable is a great introduction for students starting to study exponential growth and decay functions. The topics include: differentiating between a linear and exponential function, evaluating an exponential function, and graphing both a growth and a decay function. An answer key is included for easy classroom use.
This foldable is a great to use for interactive math notebooks at the beginning of a unit on graphing quadratics. The three sections introduce students to vocabulary surrounding quadratic functions, parent functions, stretches and shrinks, reflections, domain, range, axis of symmetry and vertex. Each copy will yield two folables. This would work best with a color copier, but is workable for black and white.
This is a set of 18 task cards complete with QR code answers. Problems include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division one-step linear equations. Perfect for math stations, walk-arounds, or other classroom use. Later problems include fractions and decimals.
This worksheet helps students review the parts of a term (coefficient, constant, variable and exponent) and then goes on to include a few activities about combining like terms.
This product includes a selection of probability vocabulary words and their definition. The original product was designed to be used in an interactive math notebook, but they could be used for a sort or other classroom activity instead. The product is a fully editable word document.
This four-door foldable is meant for students to learn to write both large and small numbers in scientific notation and how to translate numbers in scientific notation into standard form.
The foldable should be printed on two pages, glued on the center line, and then two slits cut on the blue dotted lines to reveal instructions for each operation.
The seven station review is designed to review solving linear systems through graphing, substitution and elimination. It asks students to both solve problems and explain their reasoning / show that they understand the topic through explanations. An answer key is included.
This Four door foldable contains the four main exponenet rules with several examples for each. I also left space for the teacher to add in her own examples or for the student to write descriptions/ instructions.
