I (MAC) have taught elementary school for 8 years. In that time I have earned my MA in Designing Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and obtained my K-12 Gifted endorsement/certification. I have taught Pre-k- 5th grades and am currently serving K-5 gifted students at a Title 1 elementary school.
My hubby (JAC) has been teaching since he left active duty military for about 15 years, in between deployments as an Army Reserve Officer. He has taught 2nd grade, 4th grade, and for the last 10 years, has been serving middle school students in connections Math and Reading classes. His students are those who do not pass end of year state testing, and are also part of a Title 1 community.
Opposites attract:) JAC uses these as helpers for his connections middle school math students while MAC uses these with her advanced content/gifted elementary math students. Uses include: math word wall, smaller printed slides as flash cards, game show cards, hall displays with student work, and more!
Blank slide to use for your specific standards and a "directions" slide with uses and how to's is also included!

GA law regarding gifted ed is sited and used. Appearance of thumbnails shows pics incorrectly placed. In reality, the slides are neat, and well done, once downloaded, all is correct. PPT is original and meant for staff presentation of an elementary gifted education program including advanced content, and resource pull-out. FOCUS as a program is mentioned but the PPT is not program specific. 1-2 slides may need adjustments based on your school needs.
Print mini-slides as needed for handout
Story question organizers come in 2 varieties: pumpkin (fall- not Halloween) or Jack O' Lantern. Both are provided along with a printable poster for wall displays that lists the CCGPS and TKES. Organizers can be used with any book (student level and choice) and ask students to find the who, what, where, when, and why of the story. Thumbnails appear to have writing in the wrong places, but docs do not appear or print this way when open.
These can be used in a book/library center, or with a boo
Students fill in the rest of this bulletin board that describes the writing process. It is small enough to fit in small wall space, but hits many TKES standards for teachers while providing a reference for students!

Teaching style
1 style? we wouldn't survive! We meet the kids where they are and go from there! Stations, centers, computer labs, whole group instruction, small group pull-out, hands-on, kinesthetic, stand on my head if I have to... kind of style:)
