For 8 years I worked as a counselor, as such, I taught classroom guidance lessons to preschool through 5th grade students. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher. I love to help and get creative. This download contains worksheets to guide students through researching an animal. There are worksheets for each continent -Africa, Antarctica, Arctic Circle, Asia, Australia/Oceana, Europe, North America, South America. They are designed at 2 levels. One Level has guidelines in the writing spaces to assist younger kids or kids who need handwriting practice. The other is designed for older students, with more writing space.

This is a vocabulary matching activity with 21 words associated with plants. Words included are: oxygen, carbon dioxide, seed coat, cone, pollinate, nectar, seedling, leaves, root, stem, flower, fruit, embryo, seed, photosynthesis, chlorophyll, glucose, deciduous, conifer, xylem, phloem.
It includes 3 pages of words with a definition and a picture to be sorted and glued to an organizational page.
I created this for my second grade class after a plant unit where they gained a lot of vocabulary

Experience
For 8 years I worked as a counselor, as such, I taught classroom guidance lessons to preschool through 5th grade students. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher. I love to help and get creative. So I have made materials at the request of teachers and now I am creating them for myself. I love to share so I am happy to share materials I have created with anyone who wants them!
Teaching style
I think that students learn through a variety of methods and that all students are different so we need to teach them the way they learn. I love to use play to teach, I also enjoy object lessons, visuals and technology all of which I think can be extremely helpful to students.

I have had one of my original activities published in a book, I thought this was quite an honor.
My own education history
A Batchelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and have recently returned to school for a teaching degree. I am currently in my last semester of school to earn my alternative licensure certificate for Elementary Education and am working in my own classroom as a practice teacher. I would like to return to school to earn a Master's degree in Special Education
