So nice to meet you! My name is Kate Dumouchelle. Sometimes people call me Madame Mindset.
I started teaching in 2008, in South Korea. Since then, I have taught mostly grade 1 and 2 in French language schools in Ontario, Canada. I have coached sports in and out of school. I served as my school's primary math lead and helped teachers integrate math strategies in their instruction.

So nice to meet you! My name is Kate Dumouchelle. Sometimes people call me Madame Mindset.
I started teaching in 2008, in South Korea. Since then, I have taught mostly grade 1 and 2 in French language schools in Ontario, Canada. I have coached sports in and out of school. I served as my school's primary math lead and helped teachers integrate math strategies in their instruction.
Teaching style
I have always been physically active, played sports at high levels and have a Bachelors degree in Human Kinetics. I was also a camp counsellor for many years. So, it should be no surprise that, I have long been an advocate for integrating physical activity and games in the classroom. I find that students learn best when they are moving, talking and having fun!
Awards & shining teacher moments
In 2021, I started a YouTube channel called Madame Mindset. I found a new love for creating engaging French brain break activities and other resources for teachers and students around the world. I love to make learning interactive and engaging.
In an effort to explore my creativity I started a second YouTube channel called Mme Mindset. On this channel, I seek to provide others with more information about brain health, teaching tips and strategies, as well as any other topics I choose to share about myself and my life.
