Escargot Snail festival & craft
I tell my French novice exploratory learners about Escargots in English. We watch the videos & see how France celebrates the snails. We then do a paper craft where all students make their own escargot. We later race them on a ribbon or string against each other to see the ultimate Escargot! Students love making their own designs and learning about les escargots!

Just a quick power point I show students before watching the movie and answering the quiz questions! We do animals before so I like to stick that in the beginning and connect it to what they may see. The picture slides I verbally tell them the synopsis, how it's translated into many languages, & that it's still a mystery of what happened to the real author. I believe that French should be fun and engaging no matter the age! I don't want to be bored teaching so why would students want to be bored? You can still challenge students yet meet them where they are to make the most of time together.
